Cedar On 15 @ Impiana KLCC Hotel - Fine Dining Restaurant In Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia


Kickstart year 2019, it is a pleasure to explore a new gastronomic experience at Cedar On 15 - rooftop restaurant and lounge at Impiana KLCC Hotel surrounding the city's most iconic landmarks, KLCC at Kuala Lumpur. Especially Impiana KLCC Hotel has a strategic location where it can be connected via KLCC-Bukit Bintang Pedestrian Walkway (SKY Bridge) to Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, Twin Towers and City's Premier Shopping Complexes.


In addition my good friend and I excited to experience the fine course which is the innovative and classic menu. Chef Helmut Lamberger, Corporate Chef (WACS Global Master Chef) launched his creative and traditional favourites menu which is Midday Specials, Social Bites and The Cookbook.

Midday Special provides a wide of selection of refreshing salads, hearty soups, main courses and desserts for lunch meanwhile Social Bites offers a variety of light snacks which can be enjoyed at the outdoor bar and lounge area. In addition, The Cookbook offers the culinary delights perfect for dinner in the restaurant's modern and elegant environment.


It is a quite special and unique as Chef prepares to serve us with the delectable and classic European dishes which is very rare and traditional combination. My good friend, Selina Wing and I are delighted to experience and explore European traditional dishes on our first time. It is a truly awesome experience.


Once I have stepped into this rooftop restaurant, I impressed with the ambiance and elegant environment especially we can enjoy to view the beautiful night and panoramic view of the most iconic landmarks, KLCC at the lounge bar. Thus it is quite comfortable to dining in the beautiful environment. Obviously, my good friend and I love to capture the beautiful photo surrounding.


Besides that, we are craving at the meals to be served. Wow, I surprised to see Carpaccio of Portobello Mushrooms which is an unique dishes. The taste is quite different where I never eat before. Well, it is my first time to taste this kind of the dishes. It has the meaning of the behind story. Curious?

Carpaccio of Portobello Mushroom (Forest) 

You SHOULD not miss the delectable dish named Carpaccio of Portobello Mushroom, Chef Helmut created it in year 1991 according to him, it is the most special year because of his team's success in winning the most award in Austrian gastronomy, the "Chef of the Year, Austria" award by Gault Millau. So he reinvent the dish with new condiments and ingredients for an added twist and bring out new flavours.

Cream of Kohirabi (Earth)

After that, the next meal which is Cream of Kohirabi where it is Chef's reccomendation. Wow, it is very awesome experience to taste the soup. When the food served, it contains butter sealed scallop, baby greens and coral tuille. Firstly, my good friend and I suprised to see it however the chef poured the cream on our plate. It is a perfect taste and has creamy and smooth once I taste it. So delicious and awesome! Love this so much.

Pan Fried Filet of Barramundi (Regional)

One of the most attractive meal named Pan Fried Filet of Malaysian Barramundi which is the special as the ingredients is very rare and unavailable in Malaysia such as the sorrel herb and kohlrabi, a tasty and crisp vegetables also known as German Tulip. It is a pleasure to explore this meal. Quite delicious. For those people who love fish, you can order this. Otherwise there is a plenty of choice can be selected.

A Medley of White Chocolate & Raspberry (Passion)

Lastly, the dessert has served, it is A Medley of White Chocolate & Raspberry. It comes with citrus creme and crispy snaps (on side). It is a bit sour and sweet combination. Anyways, you can choose another dessert in the menu if you are not Raspberry Lover.

Scandinavian Shrimp Salad

Sticky Date Pudding

In addition, those people who love seafood salads, Skaagen Shrimp Salad which is a light and refreshing starter before lunch and meanwhile meat lover will love the classic Mediterranean Grilled Meat Gyros served with light tzatziki sauce on the side. For the dessert, you may try a highly recommendation named Sticky Date Pudding with Butterscotch Sauce and Ice Cream's version in a smoky and dramatic manner.

Austalian Beef Wagyu Ribeye Steak, Foie Gras

Another recommendation is Austalian Beef Wagyu Ribeye Steak, Foie Gras "Magyar"(pan seared French duck liver served with apple pear compote, Hungarian paprika just and pomme de terre noisette), Gambas and Garlic (juice grilled tiger prawns with tomato coulis, sage, garlic, extra  virgin olive oil and served with garlic rubbed baguette), The Big (ann oversized pizza suitable for sharing among 3-4 people) and the Passionfruit and Cocount Mousse Globe, drizzled with hot chocolate.

According to Chef Helmut, "As a chef, I am constantly influenced by new ideas, trends and evolving palates. The drive to constantly innovate and be creative has led me and my team to experiment with new preparation methods and styles of cooking and explore unique ways to present and serve our dishes".

"Throughout my career spanning 30 years, I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to be inspired by different countries and cultures across the globe. With the new dishes, I hope to be able to share my experience and fond memories of the various countries and their cuisine with our diners" he added.
