International Day of Sign Language 2022 @ RC Deaf Mission Malaysia

Have you ever heard of International Sign Language Day (IDSL)? The International Day of Sign Languages is traditionally celebrated and hosted in September to raise awareness of the importance of sign language in the full realization of deaf people's human rights.

Good news! RC Deaf Mission Malaysia will host a series of events with a different theme related to the International Day of Sign Language for the local Deaf community to join in these celebrations in this special month.

Agnes and Mario Peter, siblings who are passionate about helping the Deaf community, co-founded RC Deaf Missions Malaysia (RCDM) in 2006. The mission was established to give the Deaf a way to support themselves financially. Raising awareness of the Deaf community, its culture, and language-Malaysian Sign Language (BIM) is the mission's primary goal as it strives to become a service sector with a Deaf influence.

There are several important things for us, the Deaf community:

  • raise awareness related to IDSL
  • empower the Deaf youth through the Deaf sharing working experience in the office, and talents/skills
  • include Malaysian Sign Language in everyday communication, which can unite us and helps us build more inclusive Communities for all.

Come Join Us!

Here is the flyer with detailed information for all of you.
