4 Days 3 Nights at Johor and Tioman Island Trip Part 1

What a beautiful day. I'm very excited and thrilled to have a short vacation with my beloved family recently. My siblings had planned to take me and my parents to Tioman Island, one of the most beautiful islands in the world. Absolutely, I can't wait to learn more about Tioman Island because I've always seen beautiful photos and advertisements about it, and I've wanted to see how beautiful it is since I was young. I believe that my parents and siblings would definitely want to see it in person. It is even more enjoyable when we bring my nieces along. We will spend four days and three nights there. Are you curious about my Johor and Tioman Island adventure? Let's get started!

This time, we have to get up early because we are concerned about bad traffic during Raya season. We just left my home at 6.15 a.m. During our road trip, we were able to witness the stunning dawn sunset. Because the journey would take three hours to reach the first stop, which is located in Yong Peng, Johor. We were grateful that the road was running smoothly and that we arrived at the first stop safely. Then we find a restaurant for breakfast in Yong Peng and continue our journey. It is Yi Pin Shou, Roasted House[Non Halal Restaurant] serves a variety of chicken and pork rice dishes. I was surprised to see the environment is quite charming and attractive, that there is a beautiful lady who perform opera on the mural inside the restaurant and classic Chinese-style tables and chairs.

After that, we went to a few temples, which are good places to pray and take beautiful photos around the temples. Tian Bao Gong Yong Peng is the first temple we visited. It has the tallest Ji Gong in Malaysia, standing at 68 feet. He known as Crazy Monk is famous for his ability to suppress uprisings and epidemics.

The second temple, Fortune Dragon, is also located in Yong Peng. I was impressed when I saw the largest and longest dragon and I was surprised to learn that we could enter the Dragon's Tongue tunnel. My family and I explored the tunnel to see the various murals. Sorry, I can't show you the photos because it is strictly prohibited to take photos in the tunnels. It is quite nice and enjoyable to explore. The entrance fee is RM 10 per person. It is an absolute must-see and explore destination. There is an attractive landscape and background. You will fall in love with it immediately. You should stop by when you come to Yong Peng.

The hot weather made us feel hot after our walk around Fortune Dragon. Then we continued our journey to Kluang, our second pit stop, which is approximately 45 minutes from Yong Peng. This time, we need a cool dessert. So we drop at 老胡同 Old Alley, a dessert shop located along a back alley marked "Kluang Street Art" in Kluang. We share a few desserts, which are quite tasty and slightly sweet. Indeed, we were able to take some photos with the mural art. It is a must-see and perfect spot, especially if you enjoy taking photos on the street.

After that, we travelled to the last pit stop in Mersing, Johor, which takes approximately 2 hours from Kluang. When we arrived at Mersing, we immediately checked into a single-story terraced house and went out to dinner. The environment is quite pleasant and clean. Even they have a kitchen and a water filter. They have four rooms that are suitable for family stays. Alternatively, a group can stay together.

We went to Ee Lo 一而海鲜餐厅, a seafood restaurant nearby our homestay, for dinner, which took only 15 minutes. They received a lot of positive and good reviews on Google Review. That's the reason we looked into this restaurant. It's one of the best restaurants in Mersing town, serving some of the best lunch and dinner options. The staff is very friendly and provides good service, suggesting some of the best and most popular dishes. We only skipped over trying the curry fish claypot, which is one of the restaurant's signature dishes. However, the majority of the signature and best dishes were really tasty and enjoyable for us. Overall, we are delighted and thoroughly enjoyed it. This restaurant is highly recommended for the best lunch or dinner if you're travelling to or from Mersing and Tioman. You absolutely must try their signature and best dishes. You will enjoy a fantastic and memorable dining experience. In addition, this restaurant is close to Mersing Jetty. That is our first day's itinerary. Anyways, we can't wait to visit Tioman Island next day. Remember to read my Johor and Tioman Trip Part 2 as well.
