A Mother Touch Movie Review @ GSC Mid Valley

On a special occasion, Mother's Day. My good friend and I are thrilled to see a special screening of "A Mother's Touch" on May 11, 2024, at GSC Mid Valley. Thank you for the invitation from RC Deaf Missions Malaysia and the Japan Foundation of KL.

This film is based on the true story of Reiko Fukushima played by Koyuki, who has a lovely family and three sons. Satoshi Fukushima acted by Taketo Tanaka, his youngest son, lost sight in his right eye when he was 3 years old. Reiko became concerned about Satoshi after discovering his illness and his blindness at the age of 9. Since then, he began to accept his reality situation and became friendly and cheerful when he left his home to attend school for the blind, where he spent time with new friends and studies.

However, he faced the most obstacles when he discovered his hearing loss, and he determined to treat his condition through diet and exercise, but he failed, and his hearing worsened, eventually leading to the total being deaf at the age of 18. His world became unexpectedly dark, silent, and isolated. Satoshi had lost his spirit at the time, but with the support and encouragement of his mother, Reiko, and family, he overcame the struggle and trauma. His mother came up with an idea to communicate with him using finger braille to eliminate the communication barrier. Even though his journey has not been easy, he is determined to make his life more beautiful and vibrant. As a result, this film is extremely touching and has left many of us in tears. Try to imagine your world is very silent. That is why we must appreciate and cherish what we have now.
