Top 8 Malaysian Food @ Ten Years Restaurant, Evolve Concept Mall, Ara Damansara

First time I was dining in Ten Years!
In the afternoon, my good friends and I were very exciting and craving for an authentic local foods which had been top rated Malaysia Cuisine and had a best seller across different states of Malaysia. Wow! Interesting to dine in at a restaurant named Ten Years was just opened recently. Anyways, Thank you for the invitation, my good friend Selina and Stella from Food Ink. Now was my time to explore about this restaurant more deeply.

As we know, time was a meaningful and treasure. So we had to appreciate every precious moments. Due to time related to this new restaurant. So what was your opinion about the traditional and famous local dishes for several decades? Well, a simple concept that every customer love to eat the delicious foods filled up with the best savor and fragrant Malaysian Cuisine so lovable. So it had a long history about the unique and secret recipes of the meals to serve the famous culinary and satisfy the customers. It was a highly recommendation to dine in where you would to love to eat famous Malaysian Cuisine from different states of Malaysia under one roof. Each local cuisine had its special and unique recipes for 10 till 60 years and these signature dishes had been always be popular in Malaysia. Thus, Ten Years represented a generation or cycle of a business trend.

Ten Years just opened new 2nd outlet in Evolve Concept Mall, Ara Damansara 
So we did not need to travel to hunt a popular local dishes so far. So Ten Years was a best and prefect place to gather well known dishes from across cultures, states and traditional to be served for you. Must try it out!

You can sit at outside Ten Years restaurant
Ten Years had launched the main branch which located in Sri Petaling six months ago. 2nd outlet of Ten Years just officially opened last weeks ago. The concept of Ten Years would like to bring and preserve Malaysia Food Culture to the next generation so that the traditional Malaysia dishes would not faded away. Therefore, younger and old generation would enjoy these signature dishes despite a lot of hopping cafe and restaurant like mushrooms in the rain. However these famous Malaysian Cuisine still be familiar and love by Malaysian no matter they are different religion, races, age, background and ethnicity. As the result, Ten Years emphasized that it brings Malaysia’s most famous and popular street foods from every states in Malaysia under one roof so that every customer able to eat it so enjoyable. The logo of this restaurant(4"10") and a red dot had a special meaning and represented that connecting people from 4 different decades through food.

Ten Years had selected few famous hawkers where they provided some local food which came from different states such as Penang, Sabah, Terengganu, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Selangor. Especially we would enjoy to eat the special, popular and authentic local foods, such as T&T Prawn Mee, Tiger Char Kuey Teow, Kak Tum Nasi Kuning, Kak Pah Nasi Dagang, Nancy Nyonya Laksa, Kak Yati Nasi Lemak, Shun Fa Chicken Rice and Abu Pasembur Indian Rojak. According to Ten Years, it based on the selection such as they selected their recipe owner and the dishes became the signature for Ten Years to evaluate the history figure, state representative. In addition, it required the top rated in the social media and endorsement by TV media and proven track record with long queue. So 8 signature dishes from different states served the best savory and fragrant foods to everyone who love Malaysian Cuisine.

Each slogan for the Ten Years 
When you see around the comfortable environment in Ten Years, you recall about the old things when your grandparent and parent live in different generation. 
Wow! We impressed with the decor of Ten Years, it had a spacious and cozy restaurant. There was two section to dining in inside or outside of Ten Years. When we stepped into this restaurant, it brings us to experience the back nostalgia with items we used to see in 70's to 90's era. So it brings us to see the difference kind of ambiance around Ten Years. Especially the poster captured my eyes. It was about few recipes owners had their experience and history about their special dishes to be sell out. So cool!

T&T Prawn Mee in Penang
Once few meals served on the table, let me introduced each local cuisine one by one. As we knew that there was 8 signature dishes prepared by Ten Years as I mentioned earlier. As you know, Prawn Mee are very famous in Penang. For those people born in Penang, they would know which was the best Prawn Mee in Penang with a true taste and savory. I always want to eat this Prawn Mee in Penang. However, we still can eat it at Ten Years. So no need to travel to Penang so far. Cool. According to the true story, this prawn mee always sold out in early morning. It was the stall at Jalan Cheong Fatt Sze had a rich in history around 50 years. Now the current owner of this Prawn Mee who was 2nd generation. It just priced RM14.90. As we could see that there was few and fresh ingredients such as prawns, fish cakes slices, boiled eggs slices and fried shallots in the mee soup. When bite the mee, prawn sauce absorbed into mee and softness in mouth. It look likes spicy but not very spicy. So delicious. The traditonal tastes still be maintained to boil for few hours to complements the other ingredients to get a best prawn soup. If you love prawn mee, this dishes will be served for you.

Tiger Char Kuey Teow in Penang
Tiger Char Kuey Teow was one of my favorite dishes. I love it so much. This dishes was one of the popular local dishes and always be best reputation in Penang. Despite many char kuey teow hawkers stalls can be found anywhere however it was difficult to find a delicious char kuey teow where it remains the same flavor and taste and filled with the savor sauce. Mostly Penangites people and tourist like to eat this kind of kuey teow with fragrant aroma. One more interesting story was the owner of char kuey teow had been in business for over 60 years and currently running by 3rd generation. When I eat it, it was really delicious. It would be added with juicy prawn, sprouts, egg, chives. For those people who love this, this dishes was highly recommendation to try it out! I believe that you will like it. So that's why it got a high rates among Malaysian. It just priced RM13.90

Kak Tum Nasi Kuning in Sabah
I was happy to taste an unique local dishes which was Kak Tum Nasi Kuning was originally came from Tawau, Sabah. Because I never been to Sabah before. So it was a good chance to taste it out. According to Kak Tum's story. Her mother make Nasi Kuning with the secret recipe for 20 years ago. Till now, it always be sold out by 7am daily due to the special tasty and delicious. It undisputed with unique yellow rice with mixed chilli paste, savor grated coconut and added up with the special chicken cooked in red with spicy-sweet sauce included peanuts & anchovies and a fried egg can be served at Ten Years Restaurant. The price was RM19.90 per plate.

Kak Pah Nasi Dagang in Terenganu
Other meal was one of famous local in Kuala Terenganu, the meal was Kak Pah Nasi Dagang (RM18.90). First time I eat Nasi Dagang which was very well known for the authentic and quality Nasi Dagang. She make it with the secret recipe for 20 years and sold out within 3 hours immediately. A fragrance steamed rice smell of fragrant cocount served with Ikan Ayer(Tuna Fish) and curry that hits the right notes with the other sides such as ladies fingers, fried egg and fish fritters. So that's why it become a famous and signature dishes in Kuala Terengganu.

Nancy Nyonya Laksa in Malacca
Nyonya Laksa had successful to attract many people who love to eat. It always be my favorite food because I love to eat Laksa so much. It has a choice of noodles such as mee or mee hoon depend on your preference. There was a famous hawker who was 3rd generation and sold a Nancy Nyonya Laksa(RM16.90) which filled with the thick and rich coconut curry besides fresh prawn, fish balls, fish cakes slices, tofupok, crunchy cucumber and bean sprouts. So that's why it became the famous dishes in Malacca due to the true Nyonya Laksa and always be crowd and it had best seller and make it to the top of the list of must-try food in Melaka.

Kak Yati Nasi Lemak
Nasi lemak was widely known by everyone who love to eat! So it was one of my favorite in the food list too. I miss it so much. Once I eat Kak Yati Nasi Lemak, it had its unique taste and special chilli which was sweet or spicy(sambal in Malay Language). A fragrance rice was really nice to smell because it had cocount absorbed into rice. So that's why it had a nice smell to make everyone included me want to eat it more especially spicy or sweet sauce make Nasi Lemak became delicious. Thus, it had extra sides such as hard boiled egg and friend anchovies. More surprisingly, Kak Yati Nasi Lemak was sold out up to 1500 packets daily. So it became the best Nasi Lemak in town. If you like Nasi Lemak, come to eat this popular Nasi Lemak at Ten Years.

Hainanese Chicken Rice
Well, my family and I used to eat Hainanese Chicken Rice. There was many Hainanese style Chicken can be found anywhere. Otherwise, this Shun Fa Chicken had a special taste because the current owner provided the prefect poached free-range chicken subtly seasoned and served with moist and fragrant rice with the unique sauce(3 types of sauces which was ginger sauce, chilli-ginger cause and soya sauce) make the best combination to make a delicious chicken rice. Mouthwatering! In addition, he spread his father's valuable recipe to continue the true taste of Shun Fa Chicken Rice till now. So that's Shun Fa Chicken Rice got KL top 10 Chicken Rice around Kuala Lumpur. It just priced RM16.90. If you were Hainanese Chicken lover, It was a must thing to try it out! What were you waiting for?

Abu Pasembur Rojak
Rojak lovers had an opportunity to taste the famous Indian Rojak called as Pasembur Rojak attracted many people who had to wait and there was a long quene up to get Rojak no matter those people who came from near or far. The current owner had been operated for the business for more than 30 years. It had the thick peanut sauce exuding a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. it was usually well known for its generous portions of tender Argentina squid and crispy prawn crackers. Finally, Abu Pasembur Indian Rojak would be served in Ten Years! Come to eat it if you like Rojak!

Definitely, I still need to drink my beverages to calm my thirsty. So I order one of the refreshing beverages (Infused Detox). There was 4 different of Detox such as Berry Cooler (RM8.90), Citrus King (RM7.90), Lemongrass Sours (RM11.90) and Minty Watermelon (RM7.50). According to Ten Years, It had a best seller among the beverages list. It helped you to detoxify your body! So cool!

The dessert make us to feel sweet and happy after bite these dessert. There was 3 different dessert which was Banana Kataifi and Pan Durian Cake included ABC Cendol. You could choose either if you want to give a try. Anyways, we had a great time to enjoy several authentic local dishes across different states of Malaysia. I was very proud to be Malaysian. Malaysia was multi racial country where Malay and Peranakan to Chinese and Indian brings their unique culture and foods.
