Animax Carnival @ Sunway Pyramid Convention Center (SPCC) @ Bandar Sunway, Subang Jaya

This special post for Japanese cartoons and Anime fans. My good friends were extremely exciting to see a special event named Animax Carnival which was an anime-themed event organized by Asia’s top anime channel, Animax (Astro Channel 715) in various Southeast Asian countries such as Taiwan, Malaysia and Philippines. This event held at the Sunway Pyramid Convention Center on 26 to 27 March 2016 from 10am to 6pm.


Wow! It was getting overwhelming response especially it had been successfully to attract 30000 visitors for two days if compare with the previous years. This was my 2nd time to explore the anime event. Last time I visited it at KLCC on December of year 2013. Time flied so quickly. It was still popular among teenagers-young adults nowadays. We excited to explore about this event so that's why we prepared to come very earlier to getting rid of the crowd during the animed themed event. The admission was absolutely free. Those people missed Anime event out, no worries! Let's explore and see what was the special inside Animax Carnival 2016.

Wow!! There was a lot of people came here very earlier and we need to queue up through a long zigzag path to get an entry stamp and got free an OO-Kun Flipbook Animation Notepad as a door gift at the counter before we proceed to the hall. So crowd but cool to explore it!! Super happy and exciting!

We got a card which consisted the games rules and booth map. This year's theme was Animax Academy. So we got the chance to test different ability and skills such as strength, dexterity, accuracy, intelligence and wix to the test. If want to pass the test, we have to complete all the challenges to  get 5 stamp for each game in order to get the mystery prizes. We did not play this kind of games however, we really enjoyed to explored around the event. Amazing!


This carnival brings a lot of fun and an excitement for Japanese Anime Fans especially it featured the free live performance from 3 famous artists such as Angela, GARNiDELiA and Yanaginagi where they make the situation to be energetic and lively. More fun and enjoyable.


Everyone enjoyed to listen their songs which was a very popular anime series and performance at the stage in the hall. It was more interesting that the fans could get up to close and personal with them during the fan meeting. So cool!


In addition, once we step into the world of our favorite anime activities, there was a various of the booth especially the interesting games where One-Punch Man themed punch machine that the players can test their strength and an elaborate mystery setup themed after The File of Young Kindaichi R make everyone curious to solve the mystery. Besides that, a basketball and shateki shooting game provided for the visitors who would like to play it.

Not only that, the visitors need to find OO-Kun which was a blue cat character with its cuteness and emphasized us to find OO-Kun everywhere. There was a plenty of cute mascot around us. So that's why that chubby and cute mascot oo-Kun had captured our hearts and many fans. It kept to yell such as "Please Find Me" to everyone included us. So cute!

OO-Kun Animation Studio

Wow! When we stepped in the OO-Kun Animation Studio and merchandise booth, visitors could purchase water bottles, soft toys, folders and cushion blanket especially those people who purchase over RM100, would get OK-Kun bag worth RM20. We felt that this character was very cute as it was Anime Asia's mascot had been promoted lately.

So that's why there was a lot of OO-Kun balloons could be seen very clearly. At the same time, we enjoyed to cast our votes on the characters, prop and plot elements with the most votes will be used to develop into an animation.

There was a lot of participants who consumed different cosplay which indicated the characters from the anime, games, movies and international comic. It was really attractive and captured our eyes. So that's why we explored and realized that they wore their favourite anime costume where it was obviously to be showed in the special event.



One more interesting was Animax Cosplay Competition held where the participants who wore the best costume for the Animax Cosplay Competition. No doubt, it make the situation to be more fun and enjoyable. Even we grabbed to take photo with them. We impressed when saw their consume and making up. They put a lot of their effort to make them turn into their favorite character for anime or comic filled with the fantastic story. Their dreams came true! Those participants had a chance to win the amazing prices such as Sony XperiaTM Z5 and Sony PlayStation®4.

Lastly, we noticed that a long queue up line and joined them to the booth where it sell a variety of items such as Sword Art Online, One Punch Man, Black Butler III, Is The Order A Rabbit?, Snow White with the Red Hair, Diabolik Lovers More, Blood, Assassination Classroom, Fairy Tail, Hunter and Attack On Titan and many more. Wow! So crowd! Many people love to buy these items.  Anyways, we were very happy and delighted to have a great time to explore our favorite anime and comic in Animax Carnival 2016.
