Run For The Deaf @ MSDeaf Charity Run 2022 KL

It was such a beautiful weekend on October 2. The fact that my good friend and I took part in Run For The Deaf jointly surprised me. We missed the race for two to three years because of COVID 19, so we are quite excited to return to the marathon. I was thus participating in the marathon for the first time this year. Undoubtedly, there is a lot of excitement. We are thankful to Malaysian Deaf Sports Association for hosting the significant event.

The MSDeaf Charity Run 2022 (LAMSDeaf 2022) programme was officially launched by His Royal Highness the Regent of Pahang Tengku Mahkota Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim at the Kuala Lumpur City Hall Square 1 (DBKL), Jalan Raja Laut, Kuala Lumpur. The Malaysian Deaf Sports Association organized the event to aid the Malaysian Deaf Sports Development Fund in conjunction with the International Deaf Day 2022. At 6.45 am, His Highness arrived on the grounds of the DBKL Building. His Highness ran with about 1,000 other runners, the most of whom were Deaf people from all throughout Malaysia, at precisely 7 o'clock in the morning according to the information provided by the Malaysian Deaf Sports Association.

Beside that, His Highness also consented to hand out mock cheques to all of the major sponsors who made contributions to this running programme after the occasion. Even His Highness enjoyed watching a drum performance by the all-deaf drum group DeafBeat and having fun exploring different booths.

Along the way, we saw the beautiful KLCC, some people riding horses, and many people cycling in the morning. We didn't run very fast, but we finished our route. Thank you to my good friends who continue to encourage each other. Finally, we received our medals, and taking photos was a must! I believe that everyone behaves similarly to us.

Many runners enjoy doing light exercises like Jazzercise or Zumba. Not only that, but we had a great time exploring various booths such as Just Bakery, Reskills, PosMax Marketing, Silent Teddies, Handmade Merchandise, BIM Books and T shirts (Bahasa Malaysia Isyarat/Malaysian Sign Language), Listening Lab's Mobile Hearing Vehicle (MHV), Yakult Vehicle, and many more. Many people line up to receive a free yakult.

Indeed, I was delighted to see my friends. It is a fantastic time to reconnect with one of my juniors whom I haven't seen in many years. Meanwhile, there is a large gathering on stage who is very excited for the Lucky Draw. Congratulations to those who won the Lucky Draw. I never expected to win the Lucky Draw also.

Overall, we hope that the event will be better and more exciting next year. When there is a possibility, I am eager to participate in more marathons with my best friends.
