Today is a public holiday which is Nurul Quran in my country, Malaysia. I am happy to get a hoilday that I can rest but it does not mean that I sleep at house. However, My family, aunt's family and I have planned to visit Sekinchan which is a small and simple town with the beauty of scene especially the green paddy field in Sekinchan.
It is located along the coastal Federal Route 5 between the towns of Sabak Bernam and Tanjung Karang Selangor, Malaysia.Sekinchan in Chinese means "village suitable for plantation', the land and weather is suitable for farming of paddy, fruits and palm tree. It is a fishing village but it is more widely known as famous paddy field nowadays. The total farming land paddy and fruits is about 4,300 acres. You can see a wide green paddy field in your right when you arrive Sekinchan. However you can a green paddy field in March and September each year.
The journey takes an hour a half to reach at Sekinchan. You might use Waze or GPS if you do not know how get to there. It is very convenient to go. When we reach at Pantai Redang which is a popular with the peace beach. We can take our time to be lesiure and take photo together at beach. There is few swing made from recycle plastic chairs under the big tree. Other than that, there is a big tree which hangs with thousand wishes. I have managed to take photo there.
After that, we go to PLS Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd (or Kilang Beras Rakyat Sekinchan Sdn Bhd) is the one of the paddy processing factory allows tourist to visit their factory. Visitor guides will show a video to the visitors like us about the process of the paddy plantation with a mechanized planting method. Before this, visitors need to purchase a ticket to visit the museum and listen to explanation of the paddy planting process. You can buy the Pearl Rice at this factory. Pearl Rice is a popular in Sekinchan. When the time is at afternoon, the weather is getting hot. It makes us feel very hot and wet! My auntie's relatives suggest a famous restaurant and we go to have lunch at that restaurant and see a crowd with full tables. Until some people have to wait at outside before they can start to eat! However, the relatives has been book a table for us. That's why we can get in. After few minutes later, the foods has been served and it is very delicious. No wonder many people like to eat at this restaurant.
After this, we just visit one of the shop which is selling a various of fishes and there is many customer who want to buy from that shop due to the fresh fishes. Anyways, we do not buy any fishes from that shop. Then we go to buy some snacks at the other shop. That's all only that we can visit at SekinChan.
By the way, we are on way back and take a good rest at my aunt's house before we visit my grandmother at my uncle's house in Sunway. Glad to see her that she is better but getting thinner. From that time, I just spend time at my uncle's house until dinner time.
Anyways, if you are interested to plan a short trip and those people who stay at Kuala Lumpur or Selangor, I suggest that Sekinchan is a suitable place to be visit and just take 1-2 hours to get there. Other than that, you can take a good rest and relieve your mind.
